The most useful Festool MFT accessories solve a specific problem at your bench: holding a workpiece, checking alignment, or keeping the tabletop clear. Start with the task that interrupts your work most often. A clamp, a layout square, and a storage rack serve different purposes, so there is no reason to buy all three before you know which gap you need to fill.

Check where the accessory attaches
The Festool MFT/3 combines a perforated work surface with side channels. Before ordering, identify whether an accessory uses the tabletop holes, the table frame, or a guide rail. An item described as an MFT accessory may use only one of those attachment points.
Also check the exact table model and the accessory variant. A storage product offered for several workbenches does not mean that one mounting version fits every bench. Keep the manufacturer’s fit information beside your measurements when comparing options, especially if your tabletop or frame has been modified.
Choose clamps for the work you do

Festool MFT-SP clamping elements hold material from the side with a cam-action mechanism. Festool specifies a low-profile design, padded contact surfaces, and use with 20 mm holes. The set contains two clamping elements.
Consider this style when an overhead clamp would get in the way of the surface you need to reach. Plan the workpiece support and clamp positions before starting: the right accessory is the one that holds the particular piece without blocking the operation. Follow the clamp and tool instructions rather than assuming a low profile guarantees clearance for every cutting or sanding setup.
Screw clamps for compatible rails and table positions
The Festool FSZ 120 screw clamp has a 120 mm clamping capacity. Its head is designed for compatible Festool guide-rail slots and MFT clamping locations. Check both the available opening and the mounting location against your actual workpiece before choosing a size.
Think about your most common material thickness and where you need clamping pressure. A clamp that is convenient for securing a rail may not be the most convenient choice for holding a small part on the table. Build a small, useful selection around recurring tasks before expanding it for occasional jobs.
Use a layout square to check alignment
The Woodpeckers MFT Layout & Assembly Square provides a large reference for checking the relationship between the MFT fence and guide rail. Woodpeckers lists 15-inch legs, a 3/4-inch-thick phenolic body, and two 20 mm location dogs. Slots in the square also support its assembly role.
A square belongs in the setup and checking stage. After an adjustment, make an appropriate test cut and check the result before committing important material. Buying a reference tool does not remove the need to verify your own setup, and a table moved between jobs may deserve another check before precise work.
Keep clamps and small tools off the tabletop
