Unfortunately this jig has 3 design flaws that add up to make it inaccurate and difficult to use. I was able to somewhat fix it.
– (1) It comes in 2 pieces that nest, but do not mechanically lock together. This means there is play between the 2 parts, and they easily come apart every time you move the router. I got around this by heating up both pieces and swirling the plastic together to make a permanent bond.
– (2) The grove for the Festool track is way too big. I got around this by layering up tape inside the grove until the fit was snug.
– (3) the indexing pin barely engages the track. It does not stick out very far and has a heavily rounded over tip, making for lots of play. I was able to improve this somewhat by backing out the threads to extend the pin. It still takes some practice and finesse to get positive engagement.
I have not used it yet but the plate is sturdy and the spring/lock mechanism is smooth and does not bind. Should do the trick!
Works great for my m18 router
It is as great as you expect.
Haven’t used it yet, but it looks like it will do the task just perfectly! Thanks for the much better/cheaper option compared to Festool!
